Chimney Liners

A typical liner found in our chimneys here on the Cape are made of terra cotta clay. They are installed in two foot sections and mortared together as the chimneys are constructed from the ground up. These liners are designed to contain the by-products of incomplete combustion emitted from our fireplaces, wood/coal stoves and oil or gas heating systems and rid them to the outside atmosphere.

When a liner fails to contain these harmful gases it can become a fire and/or health hazard.

HOW DO LINERS FAIL?

  • When rain water mixes with corrosive flue gases and condensation produced from our home heating appliances (both gas and oil) it accelerates deterioration of the inner walls of the clay liner.

  • Overheating of the clay liners due to "thermal shock". A chimney fire in the flue is a classic example of this.

  • Deteriorated joints between the liners weakens the column of liners often causing partial or full obstruction due to collapse.

TOP TO BOTTOM installs highly corrosive resistant, stainless steel liner systems with a manufacturer's lifetime warranty for all fuels (oil, coal, wood or gas).

Whether the liner is venting a fireplace, wood/coal stove or home heating appliance your chimney is sure to run safer and more efficiently, thus saving you heating cost dollars and giving your family peace of mind.
