TOP TO BOTTOM was established in
1990 by the owner, Doug Sherman while on the full time ranks
of the Yarmouth Fire Department here on Cape Cod. Because
of the number of chimney fires and carbon monoxide hazards
encountered as a firefighter, providing an additional preventive
service in the community only made sense.
The company was originally named "Top To Bottom Chimney
Sweep" because chimney sweeping was the only service
we provided at the time. After the removal of creosote deposits
from chimney flues, further inspections revealed a great
need for chimney repairs.
It was found that just sweeping a chimney was only part
of the preventive process. This revelation prompted a name
change to "Top To Bottom Chimney Service, Inc."
